My Story
My personal journey with mindfulness and freedom from self sabotage began in my 20s when my perfectionism landed me in the hospital severely ill and ridden with anxiety while I was studying my Master’s in London, ON. I had a choice to make and I chose to begin integrating a mind calm practice into my life rather than heading down a life-long road of sickness and discomfort. Once I committed to mindfulness, my migraines, stomach pains, immunity challenges and insomnia all ended. Soon after, I completed my studies to be a classroom teacher and taught all ages – elementary, high school and college over a span of 22 years.
In 2011, after giving birth to my son I began my journey of mindfulness certification: the practice that has most positively changed my life. In 2014, I was certified as a Mindfulness and Mindfulness in Business Educator under Shamash Alidina from the UK. That same year, I studied how to heal limiting beliefs and became a Mind Detox Practitioner under Sandy Newbigging in California.
My passion to learn more about mind calm was ignited. It was a gift I used to become a conscious parent and create a very different childhood for my son than the one I had experienced myself. My desire to learn more about helping children was ignited and I then studied under Connected Kids Director Lorraine Murray from Scotland to become a certified Calm Kids Instructor. With that certification completed, I taught countless workshops to children and families throughout Southwestern Ontario.
Again, my desire to learn about the mind’s power to heal the body was piqued, and in 2021, I received my Disease Prevention Certificate from Paul Leendertse. This now allows me to help clients understand how fulfilled mind, emotional and soul needs lead to an optimally healed body. After this training in 2021, I completed my Freedom from Self Sabotage Coach certification under Jason Christoff to help clients free themselves of limiting beliefs blocking their full potential.
Altogether, since 2014 I’ve helped many people let go of what no longer served them: helped them find peace and helped them tap into the courage to live a more fulfilling life. Mindfulness helps you see your patterns and freedom from self sabotage unshackles you from your limiting beliefs so you can fully step into the life you’re meant to live.
Most recently, my learning and qualifications have grown!
In 2022, the Master Herbalist I had gone to for over a decade to deepen my optimal healing suggested I begin my own Master of Herbalism studies. I eagerly started this next journey.
In June 2024, I graduated from the intensive 3 year Masters of Herbalism program at Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine. In this program, I further studied the body’s healing as a whole. Some of the courses in this intensive Masters program included Advanced Herbology, Advanced Nutrition, Ayurvedic Medicine, Anatomy and Advanced Formulations. I have learned in depth how to help clients heal the root cause of their ailments with herbs and advanced nutrition. Since 2022, I have completed hundreds of practical hours while working under Jenny Thomas, Master Herbalist in Komoka. I learned much from her expertise and I’m so excited to share what I have learned.
All of these modalities – mindfulness, freedom from self sabotage and herbal therapy allowed me to change the course of my life from sickly and pain-ridden to vibrant and healthy! They have helped heal my body as a whole and gifted me my best life!
When you’re ready for the same, I am here to help!
